Gymnastics

Have I mentioned we've had lots of changes going on? We also started gymnastics, for 2 reasons: 1. I hope for the girls to learn control and coordination. 2. There is a class they can take at the same time. They've been so cute tumbling, jumping, swinging, and balancing. I'm kicking myself I didn't bring the good camera to take pictures with.

New Digs

With the pending arrival of Baby Boy Barbour, we had to kick Anna Fair out of the nursery to make a little room for him.  I wanted to make a big deal of it, decorate it up, bring in a few new things, ya know, live it up.  The girls were really excited to room together and gave their new decor a big eh.  So much for all our hard work.  But I think it turned out really cute and they still have lots of room to play.

I love the giant bed pillows.  We already painted the room green about 2 years ago.  With moving things in, things out, things around, a lot of our art work is now really oddly placed.  But I'm having a very hard time making more nail holes in a room I worked so hard to paint.  The ballerina print came from Stewart, the camellia prints from Aunt Jane and I painted the Walter Anderson.  And Uncle Bob made the white chest.  The beds were Wills and his grandfather Charles little boy beds.  And the big chest came from Aunt Alice.
We kept the dress up corner and moved the art work wall to the closet doors.  I'm so glad we did with all the fabulous work we have coming home from Kindergarten and PK-3!   The heart shaped bowl on the dresser came from my great-great grandmother.  My great aunt Jane painted the plates on the wall.  The doll house was mine.  And their father bought them the goldfish.  It makes my heart happy to go in there and see so many things from so many who loved us so much.

Be Still My Heart

Have you heard?  We're having a baby boy in just a few more weeks.  I have never been more thankful that Will's mother was so sentimental than now.  Otherwise, I might not have all these precious clothes to share with our little boy.  I did dress Laurie and Anna Fair in a few of these, the little yellow diaper shirt is one of my favs, but it seems all the more special to share them with a little boy.
Can you picture Will Barbour as a round little chubby babe in something so tiny and dear?  Because I can.

These three little shirts alone give my heart palpitations   Those little blue dancing bears?  I can hardly handle all the preciousness.  Did you notice the tiny little gun and holster diaper pin?  Oh, the boyishness!

Pre-K 3

Anna Fair had her turn for the first day of school as well.  She is back at Covenant for her second year.  I mistakenly thought this would be easy as pie since she did so well last year.  I should have known better, she's lost her security blanket and big sister.  Last year, Laurie walked her to her class every day, they saw each other in the halls, and left holding hands too.  Anna Fair is lost without her.  She's been protesting all week that she wants to stay home with me, but she has still willingly gotten out of the car for drop off.  And even told me she had a "great day" today!  I forgot to take a photo of her new teacher, Mrs. Huff, but I know it's going great!

How awesome to have our neighbor, Mrs. Guidry get us out for the first drop off!

Kindergarten

Today was a big day for us, Laurie's first day of Kindergarten at FPDS!  She's been really excited about it, and happy to get back to school and see all her friends.  We had a special pastry breakfast this morn, donned our new uniform, grabbed our beautiful school bag and headed off for a new adventure!

Laurie met her new teachers, Mrs. Hutchinson and Mrs. Higginbotham and gave them the cards she made for them last night.  I love my girl and her creativity and tender heart.

Laurie was really nervous to look around and see so many unfamiliar faces, but we found a few we knew and she quietly asked, "Can I play with you?" and dear Leigh piped back, "Sure!" and away we went.  (I will admit that I held it together until I reached the safety of my car, called Will and tearfully told him how drop off went.)
It must have been a good day, she was all smiles at pick up, she told me all about the rules, and seeing the principal if you get in trouble, the book corner, and her new friends Lilly and Lilly.  Then we met friends at Brents for lunch and milkshakes, what a great day!
I tried to talk everybody into naps when we got home, but I think Momma was the only one that actually fell asleep.

All Terrain

We are taking one last trip to natchez this weekend. Anna Fair is usually scared to ride in the jeep, but this trip, Laurie not only got her to ride, but also showed her how to drive. My girl is growing up! And she only rammed the truck and car once.

More kids at the pool!

We've loved having so many sweet friends to meet at the Y pool this summer.  And it makes it all the more fun for the mommas.

Precious girls!

Having fun with friends at the pool!
