Around the World Camp

Meadowbrook always has the cutest summer camps for the little ones.  This summer's theme is Around the World.  They've learned so much and come home with the cutest crafts.  They spoke with missionaries from Africa, made Mexican pinatas, colored Chinese lanterns.    And the snacks were such a hit, chocolate bananas, cheese quesadillas, fried rice, and a luau with all the fixings the last day, oh my!  I may have to go next year.

Orange Beach

We spent a week at the beach with the Ratclffes this summer.  It was a perfect week, beautiful weather, and great time of play with lots of cousins and Bebe and Grandaddy too.

The girls squealed and jumped hunting for crabs at night.  Daddy brought his head lamp and everyone wanted a turn at wearing it.  I was so proud both girls held a crab.  We terrorized our fair share, for sure.

We found more seashells than should be legally allowed.  Someone may have dumped some shells back on the beach when some people weren't looking.

We built sand towers, castles, pools, and wrote our names every where.
We were lucky the water wasn't to rough while we were there, we splashed in the waves and walked far out during low tides.

We would be so tired, we passed out anywhere, regardless of who was pestering us.

We lazy rivered.

Summer Fun

Jumping Jeepers!  How long has it been since I've posted a real update?  That long, huh.  Well, if you've been wondering what we've been up to, hold on to your hair, because you're about to find out.

Ballet Magnificat's recital.  Laurie loved being with her friends as much as she enjoyed the ballerinas.  Can you see the huge smile on her face when she finally found us in the audience?

Such a sweet face, could just eat her up.  Upon giving her the roses, she proclaimed, "I don't like pink any more, I would like red roses, please."  I really can't win.

Vacation Bible School.  We studied David and the Good Shepherd.  Mrs Ball was our table teacher and she is a new favorite with Laurie.  Kudos to all that helped out this year, it went great, fun crafts, great teaching, learned sweet songs.  Let's do it again!

Bebe and Grandaddy bought a new Big Bertha for the lake.  And let me tell you, this is not for little ones.  It's so deep, occasionally the kids would disappear from view in the middle, leaving us to wonder if they were still back there.  I was really surprised they were both willing to ride with no parent.  Not sure if I should cry or be proud.

Between boat rides, we enjoyed swimming and jumping in the lake.  My baby Anna Fair wouldn't jump for me, but Daddy asked and she took to it without hesitation.

Laurie took Cheer Camp at First Baptist this summer.  Laurie was a little nervous about being in a new place with new people, but she rallied through it, I think it was a good experience for her and she did have friend Leigh to play with!

We always take a little time out to play in Yazoo City.  Anna Fair caught her first fish and was petrified Daddy might touch her with.  Ask her what her favorite part was, "playing dress up and wearing glass slippers.

A beach post to come soon.
