Woof

Here is our pet dog. She lives in the backyard & chews on our toys & digs holes in my flower beds.   She is not the best pet ever.

Ribbit

Here's our pet frog, he lives in our bird feeder & eats lots of bugs. He's the best pet ever!

Asleep

Love that this kid was up from 4 to 6, but at 730 she's sound asleep.

Easter Morning

Laurie received not just 1, but 2 Easter baskets full of treats this year. Some people gave me a hard time that I didn't let the Easter bunny take credit for the treats. But I like to get a little credit too! (not to mention I don't want to lie to her) Anna Fair's baskets are waiting to be opened when she is feeling better. Laurie asks every day when that will be.

Egg Dyeing

Laurie did an excellent job of dyeing her eggs this year. Last year, all our eggs ended up brown from her insisting on dunking each egg in each color. This year, most of our eggs ended up some shade of pink, because pink is the awesomest color. Just ask Laurie. We somehow managed not to get a shot of our finished eggs, I'll add it to my list of failures.

Poor Anna Fair, she had a rough Easter. If it weren't enough that she had a reaction to the antibiotic she was on, she also ran into a door to cut her head and ripped her brand new britches!

Beginning of her rash on Saturday, by Sunday morn, she was red from head to toe and covered in welts.

More Easter Egg Hunts Than She Needed

Saturday morning we joined our fun cousins Taylor and Parker for their church's egg hunt. Laurie loves Parker and Taylor, he's her jeep buddy and she's so good with Laurie. They hid so many eggs, Laurie found more than enough and switched gears to picking flowers. I never thought I would see her say she had enough candy. We stayed around after for a picnic, but after candy overload, neither child ate a thing.

Anna Fair needed a little encouragement getting her 1 egg.

The Easter Bunny was kind enough to hide our beautifully dyed eggs to hunt on Sunday morning. Whatever eggs that weren't cracked during the dye process were smashed during the hunting process. I'm still waiting to hear how many of those eggs Granddaddy turned into deviled eggs.

Sunday after lunch, we hid eggs for all the cousins. The grandparents put money in their eggs. I want to know why the adults couldn't hunt too? Don't think I wasn't "helping" Laurie out for this hunt! The little stinker didn't want the money and kept asking, "where's the candy?"

Prater and Anna Fair

These two little peas in a pod tickle my heart. With their unique names and curly, wild hair. Independent, sweet, fun, sibling following. I can't wait to see them take over the world!

Our Easter Party

Since everyone is out of school today, I thought it would be fun to have friends over for a little party and egg hunting. Laurie agreed. I have also decided I need to have parties more often, nothing has been as effective as the phrase, "You need to stop X or we may have to cancel your Easter party." May not be great parenting, but it worked every time.

We had a great day, I got before pictures, what I should have taken were after pictures of the devastation 15 little kids can make on a yard.

A little crafting. I like that you can take one look and tell if the egg were made by a 5 year old or a 3 year old.

The hunt.

Anna Fair with her 1 egg.

Me: Laurie would you hug Meg? Meg: No! I want to hug Laurie. Love these two.

Cupcake decorating.

It's never really a party until someone cries.

Easter Party at the Governor's

This was our very last Easter party at the Governor's Mansion. Unless the next Governor has us over, I'm not holding my breath. And it was a grand hoorah! Children are hysterical. I don't know why more people don't have dozens of them.

Laurie's butterfly tattoo, just like Meg.

Anna Fair and Gigi with their matching hearts.

I know Laurie waited in line for 10 minutes for her balloon from Inky the clown. Nothing doing, but she wanted a fishing pole. I tried to encourage her to do something else and come back later, but we had to wait. She was thrilled with it.

Fishing with our fishing pole. We popped it shortly after this. The world pretty much collapsed in on itself. At the last minute, Inky saved the day by making another.

Anna Fair is my more timid child. She has no plans to pet the bunnies.

Strangle hold on the poor baby chick.

Meg: death grip on the bench arm. Anna Fair: What am I sitting beside? Laurie: Fishing pole. Fishing Pole. Fishing Pole.

Still obsessed with our fishing pole.

What a fun Easter party!

Sssh, they are sleeping!

I love the little mother I live with. She takes such good care of her babies. You never know who may be sleeping where in our house.

Rag doll on the bathroom floor with the throw that should be on the couch.

Rubber ducky.

Baby Charlie in the crib. Skein of yarn (aka, kitty) on the stool with a non-slip pad that should be under the window-seat cushion.

Baby Chloe.

Dora, Boots, Princess Aurora, Prince Charming.

All from today! And at this very moment, the little mother is taking the opportunity to nap herself. It's like they always tell you, "nap when they are napping!"

Bubby

Anna Fair has a best friend, his name is Bubby. He is most beloved of all things beloved. If you had seen Bubby yesterday, you would know he was loved and believed he would never be white again. It takes a lot of work and magic to get Bubby away from his friend. We do have a back up Bubby. Back up Bubby is not beloved, he is ignored and begrudgingly taken as a last resort. The plan was to keep beloved Bubby clean for a while and Anna Fair could use back up Bubby. Unfortunately, she followed me into the laundry room and spied a tiny slip of him hanging from the shelf, throwing back up Bubby to the floor, she flipped out.

Ahhh, sweet reunion.

Let's break this down. First, you must face plant in Bubby, rub your face on him, maybe even a little drool. I forgot to put Bubby in bed with her once, she cried for an hour. I've never done that again.

While holding Bubby, thumb sucking is a must. Especially good if the thumb has not been washed all day.

The other hand is busy rubbing Bubby between her fingers. True nirvana. I feel sleepy just looking at her face.

Anywhere, Anytime, Anyplace

Except perhaps in her room, at bedtime, in her bed.
