Enjoying Our Time Outside

We have enjoyed some beautiful weather these last few weeks. We played at the playground. We ran around the dog park. We rode our tricycle around the block. We pick flowers in the yard, there are bunches of weeds everywhere in our house. I find them in the stroller, Laurie's kitchen, her diaper bag, Josie's water bowl. I think we have a future horticulturalist on our hands. With Anna Fair smiling and cooing the entire way.

Ode to Paci-O

And then...there was none. Laurie is very particular about her pacifier, aka, paci-o. VERY particular. And of course she became attached to the brand that is only sold at babies-r-us. And a variety that is discontinued. We started with 4. The first was lost in the condo at the beach. The second, in the nursery. Third, run over after being left in the street during the February snow. And finally, the last paci-o was shared with Josie and did not fare well. This is what paci-o looks like after you let the dog gnaw on it. Not good for a pacifier. Thankfully, the heart of a 2 year old is rather fickle, 2 cookies and substitute paci-o later, and we are all good.

St Paddy Parade

We certainly did enjoy the snacks from the St Patrick's Parade. We ate all that we brought, drank all our juice, and even snagged someone's pork rinds off the pavement. The giant Kermit was really cool too. But an afternoon parade with the sun shining in our eyes is a little to much for our troop.

Play Date

As we are in the midst of spring break, I figured why not just bring the playmates to us! We had Meg over for a playdate yesterday and we all had a blast. The conversations between these little people are awesome, they had me giggling the entire time. Not to mention the housework I got done while Laurie was so occupied! Thanks for playing with us Meg!

Laurie: (upon seeing Meg eating breakfast) "Sac...Lawrie sac"
Me: "Can you say may I please have a snack?"
Laurie: "Peeeeeese"
Meg: (upon seeing Laurie with a snack) something..something "gofissshhhh"
Me: "Would you like some goldfish too?"
Meg: "Uhmmmm, YEP."
Laurie: "Meggie, uhmmmm"

Later, I also caught them singing happy birthday. I would love to know where they come up with these ideas?

Welcome, Logan Latta!

On Friday, March 5th, my brother welcomed his son, Logan Latta, into his family. What a wonderful day! Our family is full of March birthdays and I am so excited to share a birth month with my nephew. I hate to tell Jennifer, but I think Logan looks an awful lot like Richard. I think Richard, Jennifer, and Abigail are handling their new addition really well, if perhaps not getting much sleep. Richard told Jennifer he planned to go back to work when Logan started sleeping well at night. Apparently, he plans to take a few months off work. :)

Anna Fair's Baptism

Anna Fair was baptized on Sunday. What a joy to bring her into our church family of faith. To have our fellow Christians come alongside us in raising our children is an encouragement to my heart. I was thrilled for our friends Kristen and Wyche to stand beside us (I am always so jealous that he always seems to be asleep!). I know he and Anna Fair will be big buddies and I am glad to say their friendship really has begun in the cradle! Our families joined us for the day and we had a fun lunch for all after church. I love having people over. It's the only thing that can motivate us to get our house in order!

Question: Are all our pictures destined to have a paci in them?

Fun With Two

Our house is so much fun! Laurie continues to grow and change. We love reading and singing and dancing. She is so cute prancing around. And pretty proud of herself too. (You better turn down the volume if you don't want to hear my melodious singing) I love when babies first learn to blow raspberries, we have such fun making faces at each other all day. (I think Laurie is fighting with her cd playing in the background)
