Taking a Page From Miss Krista's Playbook

Laurie's ballet teacher has been teaching the class scripture verses to ballet each week.  Laurie had her very own class this week, Anna Fair was an excellent pupil.  And Mommy was tickled pink to hear her girls (sort of) remembering scripture.

Christmas Wrap-Up

Laurie and I made super cute snowmen to share with her and Anna Fair's class.  Anna Fair made one and then abandoned ship.

We celebrated Christmas with the Barbours and Hursts.

Anna Fair loves May May.  She's telling her a story about a princess here.
The girls had a few friends over to decorate Christmas cookies.  Side note, I've recently started adding whole wheat flour to our regular flour.  It makes the cookie dough really dry.  Not recommended.  But I can call them healthy because they're whole wheat.
Daddy read The Night Before Christmas and the story of Jesus birth to us on Christmas eve.
Then both girls had to carry the milk and cookies to the fireplace to leave for Santa.

 Santa Came!

I love sleepy headed babies unwrapping presents still in their jammies.  The girls had a great Christmas, Laurie's favorite gift was her pillow pet, encouraged by great advertising during every Christmas movie and cartoon.  Anna Fair loved her candy.  We could have given her no gifts.  She has a huge sweet tooth, just like her daddy.

Mommy's big gift from Daddy.  Mommy isn't actually a fan of the show.  Daddy thinks he's funny.
Bebe and Grandaddy may have gone a little overboard on the gifts.  Side note, Richard's family wasn't able to make it down to open gifts till much later than us, so we had already opened ours by the time they arrived.  As Baby Logan was opening his pile, Anna Fair was crying for her presents.  Daddy sensibly said hers were already opened.  But Anna Fair whined, "I want some presents with the trash still on them!"  Question, at what point does the beautiful wrapping paper, ribbons and bows turn to trash?  I want to know.  Is it the first tear?  Or not till it's a pile on the floor?

 Enjoying our new art stand.

 And decorating our bug cupcakes.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

Whole Lot of Christmas Going On

We love baking and decorating Christmas cookies.

And sharing them with our neighbors.

Laurie's ballet class at covenant danced a Christmas Ballet to White Christmas.  We were so proud of Laurie, this was the best we've seen her perform.  Thanks for doing a great job, Miss Krista!

The Natural Science Museum always comes up with the cutest ornament craft ideas.  We made cotton ball snowmen, pecan dragonflies, and pipe cleaner snowflakes galore!

Visiting Santa at Winners Circle Park was a hoot.  I thought the girls might knock down some unsuspecting children to get their time Old St Nick.  Anna Fair told him (with some encouragement) that she wanted a train and Laurie shouted repeatedly that she wants a dream light.  And rode the train, saw baby Jesus, lots of fun decorations and played on the playground to twinkling lights.

That is some serious focus on the baby Jesus.

Rudolph

This is my favorite craft they do at Covenant Preschool.  Rudolph with a footprint face and handprint antlers.  Laurie has been wearing her cute little shirt for 3 years now.  Love, love, love.

Christmas Program 2012

Laurie's Christmas program was a hoot as always.  She wouldn't tell us a thing about it, "it's a secret" translated to mean, "I have no idea what's going on and will not sing any of the songs"

Looking for mommy and daddy...looking...looking...

I didn't notice them at the time, but I love to see what other kids are randomly doing in all our shots.

Laurie's favorite song was the Shepherd Shuffle because they got to jump around.
Mommy's favorite song always has been and always will be Covenant Kids, or known around our house as Bubbadub Kids.

Gingerbread

The girls stayed with Aunt Fair one night while we were out.  For the next three days, all I've heard is, "Aunt Fair has a gingerbread house, when are we going to make a gingerbread house?"  And put that on repeat for 5000 times. I bought the "Christmas Village" set as opposed to 1 house, with the thought that everyone could have their own to work on.  Whatever.  The result was that Momma now had 4 tiny little houses to put together, held with icing.  Anyway, I now have 2 happy girls and 4 beautiful houses.  Let the party begin!
