Boo To You

We have been extra busy celebrating this most celebrated of dressing up and eating candy holidays.  Trick or Treating is just hours away and it's still up for grabs exactly which costumes we'll choose.

First up, pumpkin carving!  I bought Daddy a carving kit, so I felt free to get really cutesy with my design this year.  (side note, a friend lamented her dislike of carving their pumpkins.  I replied that this is one of Will's clearly defined duties as the husband.)

Who taught her to pose like a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader for our photos?  I want to know.

I love our neighborhood.  We had a block party on Monday and had a great time visiting.  The moms provided fun activities like fishing, coloring, pumpkin decorating, and tattoos.  But really, if there are cupcakes and cookies, what kid is going to color?  (We attended this party as a pink ballerina and princess.)

At the Ridgeland Fall Festival.  It was super cold, but we braved it for pumpkin decorating and jumpy lands.  (For this, we were a different pink ballerina and a cheerleader.)

We had a fabulous time at the Science Museum Fall Festival.  There were so many activities to do, pumpkin bowling, tattoos, fishing, snakes and candy, oh my, not to mention all the regular things we love about the science museum!  (for this festival, we are a blue ballerina and...I have no idea what Laurie is, a mermaid?  She said a seahorse, but the package said Queen of Atlantis.  What is that?  I do not know, but it's shed blue glitter all over my house.  I'm looking at you, BB.)

Motivation

Our to do list has been getting longer and longer and Will and I are both too easy going (a nice way of saying we procrastinate) to tackle much on our list.  What we do respond well to, motivation, provided by a deadline in the form of a birthday party in our backyard last week.

Item 1:   We've been discussing landscaping in our front yard since we've moved in 5 years ago.  We've had quotes, we discussed how much to take out, how much to leave in.  But alas, we never got it done.  But, oh my goodness, we jumped in we both feet and love the end results.

Item 2:   About 6 months ago we steam cleaned the carpet in the den and realized our 2 precious angels had ruined it with our many spills and stains.  I love, love hardwood floors.  I had to take this short shot as most of the floor is covered in toys.
Item 3:   Since Daddy mentioned building deer stands at hunting camp last spring, Laurie has been begging him to build her a new tall tower.  You can buy ready made versions, but who needs that when you have Captain Carpenter and his assistant, Handy Dandy living at your house?  I am thinking of starting Will a little side business, sadly, I think we'd have to charge $45000 a piece to make it worth the time, effort and strain on our marriage worth it.
Daddy built the sandbox last year, but we got some pretty good use out of it today.  As much sand as they drag through my house, we'll have to haul in another load to fill the box back up.

Happy Third Birthday, Anna Fair!

Mommy woke with a heavy heart this morning, realizing that Anna Fair has turned three.  It's ok though, Anna Fair assured me that she would turn back into a baby later.

We started off with birthday pancakes and Brer Rabbit Molasses.
The big sister gave Anna Fair the gifts she picked out just for her.

Followed up with purses and baby dolls.  What more could a little girl want?  Happy Birthday, Anna Fair, we love you!

Someone was in the mood to do a few puzzles today.

Baby Doll Party

For Anna Fair's third birthday, we celebrated by throwing a baby doll party in the backyard.  We went with a simple route, using all our toys for entertainment.  Plus lots of sticker crafts, butterfly and Curious George tattoos, and a bubble machine (which mommy may have forgotten to turn on till after the party was over).  What a fun day!

Our party favors.  Suckers, stickers and a baby bottle full of M&Ms.
A real live baby at our baby doll party.

Our brand new tall, tall tower built by daddy.
 Cupcakes with baby doll cookies.
Josie scavenged for leftover food for hours post party.

Mommy was mean (and exhausted) and didn't let her open presents till after bath time.

Anna Fair is in love with her birthday balloon.

Roasting Marshmellows

Nothing says camping out quite like making smores over your campfire.
