I love Will Barbour.  In a house full of girls, we have an endless supply of pink twirly dresses.  But leave it to him to find our lone pair of navy shorts.

Spring Break - 2

We did more than just twirl in pretty dresses for our break. We tried our hands at finger painting. Love blending all the colors.

Laurie is a maniac in her jeep. Anna Fair won't ride with her anymore. Laurie has learned how to throw it into second to get the jeep up hills. The way she whips that thing around trees and up hills is amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed the freedom of sitting on the porch and watching her go here, there, and yon with little supervision or assistance needed from me (check that, I'm now crying that she needed little supervision or assistance from me). Her routine consisted of: Drive down to pick flowers. Return to put flowers in vases. Draw pictures. Drive to take pictures to Grandma Betty and Aunt Catherine. And repeat.

And broke out the swimming pool for our first dip of the year.

Hard day.

The return drive home from Yazoo City is always long.

Spring Break -1

We headed to Natchez to enjoy a few days of spring break with my parents. And to enjoy a little dancing in the Maypole. You may remember that Laurie lit up the stage last year. So we entered the scene as quite the professional performer. And we greatly depended on her wisdom to guide first timer, Anna Fair, through the dance.

For the most part, the girls stuck together. They both did great and went with the flow.

Pick the perfect seat for the best view of the big maypole dancers.

I think Anna Fair is wondering where all the boys kept coming from.

The second the dancing is over, bolt from the stage as if on fire. Getting left behind is for suckers.

She loved every second of it.

Happy Birthday, Baby Logan!

We hope you had a grand birthday! Also, we're sorry, but you will probably still be Baby Logan on your wedding day. It's a hard title to live down.

Fancy Nancy

Fancy Nancy came to Lemuria yesterday. First a little crafting, making a wand with stickers. We take our crafts very seriously. Then the author, Jane O'Connor came to read her newest, The Mermaid Ballerina to the group. What fun!

Happy Birthday to me!

My birthday was this past weekend. I asked Laurie how old she thought I was, she said 17. I feel pretty good! Though she also said 17 is really old. Daddy bought us a yummy caramel cake. Well, it was yummy till I accidentally turned on the stove burner it was sitting on. Now it tastes a little charred. We took turns blowing out the candles. It may be years before I get to blow out my own candles again.

New Do

Our sweet friend, Terry Smith, cut the girl's hair today. She did a great job and even gave them beautiful braids. I may have to go sit at the feet of the master to learn to braid hair this prettily. We highly recommend her. Laurie asked me if I would take a picture of her hair while she is picking flowers in her ballerina tutu. How else would you take a picture of a new do?
