Laurie's School Program

Covenant Preschool presented the 3 year old program yesterday and Laurie did a fabulous job.  She sang all the songs and did all the hand motions.  We were so proud of her, she even had a speaking part and several times we could distinctly hear her sweet voice above the others.   Our girl is growing up so fast!  What a treat to see her and all of her classmates shine.

Laurie's Turn

For some reason, I couldn't upload 2 videos on a blog post, so here's Laurie dancing her heart out.

Brant and Monica's Wedding

My cousin Brant and his bride Monica were sweet enough to ask Laurie to be the flower girl for their wedding along with cousin Webb as ring bearer.  She's been so excited and I don't think we ever convinced her that the show wasn't really all about her.  She copied every thing Monica did and even told her how pretty she was.  Other than a brief scuffle over the flowers, she and Webb did a great job!

Laurie loved hanging out with all the big girls before the wedding and kindly serenaded them with a little Rock A Bye Baby.

We stopped by to see Grandmother Betty (or as Laurie calls her, Grandmother Daddy) to show off our pretty dress (borrowed from Aunt Fair, isn't it lovely?).
It was all we could do to keep from joining the new bride and groom in their first dance.

I wish I could have gotten both the girls to dance for the video, but it was so cold outside, we took what we could and enjoyed ourselves inside.

The best laid plans

I saw a great idea on pinterest to use your Easter egg shells to make mosaics. So cute, right?   My kids had no interest.  But didn't my mosaic turn out cute?!  That's Lauries half effort on the left.

Neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt

Our sweet neighborhood gathered for an Easter Egg hunt today. The kids had a grand time and got much more than their fill of candy, cookies and treats. And the mommas enjoyed visiting a bit too.

The four year old set lining up for the hunt. This is a lethal group.

"Anna Fair! Come back!" The little stinker found out where the chocolate cookies were, determined this egg thing was taking to long, and bailed.

The controlling mother in me forced Anna Fair to return for the hunt. She found 2 eggs, then returned to the cookie table.

Easter Treats

Is it just me, or every time you do a game/craft/cook with your child do you feel an overwhelming desire to push them out of the way, kick them to the ground and take over so that it is done right? Well, I overcame that urge today, and my girls are so proud of the treats they made for their classes.

Everything seems cooler when you're wearing a rockin' pair of shades.

In case you don't know, the treats are bunny faces from something I found on pinterest. Laurie, stop staring at the treats and look at the camera. Do they ever do what you want them to do?

More Maypole

There is only one thing I don't like about the Little Maypole. It's way to short. We've got a new dress, so we're dancing as much as we can. I am really sad we'll only be able to dance once more this year. It's a lot of work for the momma, but they have so much fun.

I love making new friends before it starts.

I love watching them skip with their ribbons.

I love watching the big kids boss the little ones.

I love trying to decide on the perfect seat.

I love seeing Laurie curtsey.

And hold it... I also love this little girl waving for all she's worth.

Even if they try to drag you off stage, keep holding it.

There's another cute little girl waving.

Resurrection Gardens

I've found really great craft ideas on Pinterest and thought Palm Sunday was a great day to make our resurrections gardens. Ours don't look quite as good as the pros, but the girls made them themselves and were so proud of it. Laurie even wanted to point out to Daddy where Jesus' tomb is. Other than the pottery and some flower seeds, we used what we had around the yard to make ours.
