You're a Mean One

The Grinch came on tv this week and we snuggled in with our 2 cleanest Whos. In case you are wondering, those are elves on top of the tv.

Gifts Under the Tree

Laurie told me Bebe left this gift under the tree for her. Bebe sure wrapped it odd. Even odder, Bebe hasn't been here in a month.

Trimming the Tree

Our house is fully decorated for Christmas, I feel in the spirit already! It has been so dear to have two sweet girls to help put the decorations on the tree (ok, so actually, we did most of the work while Anna Fair was napping and only brought her out for the big finale). The bottom third is especially decked out. They were excited to put on their very own ornaments. Laurie wanted to know the history of each and every ornament. I love this time of year!

Gingerbread

While the turkey was still on the counter, we ushered in Christmas. Sherrie was smart to provide some gingerbread house making to keep lots of little hands busy. They did a great job decorating and with a little help from Uncle Charles, they had quite a handsome masterpiece finished. Laurie hasn't stopped asking when we can eat it. I think it's been donated to Pop and Sherrie to enjoy.

Thanksgiving in Natchez

This post has nothing to do with Thanksgiving, but it's where we were and what we were there for.

Bebe made Laurie some extra long Rapunzel hair. I think even Rapunzel would be jealous of all this hair.

Bebe and Grandaddy bought the grands a jeep for Christmas last year. Try as we might, Laurie has never been able to drive it (well, she does drive it into the tree, the car, the house, the dog...). She hopped right in this weekend and took off like it was no big deal. I am so proud of my big girl, all growed up.

More Each Day

I love these kids more each day.

If you insist on putting on not just one, but two leotards all by yourself, there's a pretty good chance you might end up with a few stray sleeves hanging down your legs. Love her.

Laurie earned her crown in Sunday School for saying her Catechism (pronounced"calakism") questions. She is so proud and has worn it all day and told everyone she sees about it. Love her.

Snug As Bugs

Two of my favorite people are snug as bugs in this tent in our backyard. Will and I loved camping in a more romantic, carefree time in our lives. So, we are looking forward to sharing it with our little people. Will is gracious enough to go it alone with Laurie while I snooze it up inside with Anna Fair. He has really low expectations, but I have seen this child pass out in lots of awful positions, I think she'll do fine. Look at her sweet face, she's excited beyond measure.

Our Weekend

A few shots from a fun weekend.

A good time always starts off with a nap wearing shoes and a stolen backpack.

Our sweet friend Audrey Cate is moving in a few weeks. We are so sad, but at least we enjoyed celebrating her birthday! A gymnastics party, what a fun idea!

We talk about fall and leaves changing color a lot lately. So of course we needed to make a hand print tree with all our found leaves.

Reason #264 Why I Love Our Preschool

And she made the pallet on her own too.

Score One For Mommy

Our girls are not good eaters, in general. Laurie can be bribed, but Anna Fair is finicky. So tonight, I told Anna Fair she couldn't have extra chicken or dessert till she ate 1 green bean. What followed was a rather unpleasant dinner with Will scoffing at my efforts.

And yet, when everyone else had left the table and she sat whimpering in my lap, Anna Fair humbly ate two green beans. Success! This may be my proudest parenting decision in history.

And yes, I am rubbing Will's face in it.
