Practicing our sounds

Laurie's favorite animal sound is the fish. She will often do it regardless what animal you ask her to say.

I wanted to get more video, but we tend to have a breakdown over the camera and this was all I got after the first good recording.

We decided Laurie was ready for big girl shoes. Don't they look huge!?! And Mama was a little surprised how much little kid shoes cost. Wow!

Spring in Yazoo

Early Saturday morning, we headed up to Yazoo City to enjoy the beautiful spring day. We had a blast: exploring the woods, seeing all the azaleas and dogwoods in bloom, fishing and running in the grass. Laurie had to pick up every leaf, flower, and stick, she loves being outside. Will and I even dug up a few dogwood saplings to plant in our backyard, we really hope they live!

Josie was especially overjoyed to be out of our backyard.

I think this was the first time Laurie has met the ponies in Yazoo. She was so excited to meet them and a tad overzealous in her affection towards them. They weren't very receptive to her slaps and eye pokes. I need to work harder on practicing "gentle!"

As usual, after a full day of play, Laurie zonked out on the ride home. We all played really hard!

Kiss Me, I'm Irish!

Happy St Patrick's Day to all of you! Laurie and I remembered to wear our green, I hope you did too, or we'll be sure to pinch you!

Trip to Natchez

We took a long break and headed down south to Natchez on Thursday. Laurie had a ball visiting with her Grandma Betty and aunt and uncle and of course Bebe and Grandad. It's not everyday you get to be the center of attention for so many fans.

Mom's poor dog, Mini Pearl, may need some serious therapy after all the vigorous affection Laurie showered on her. Gentle we are not.

Laurie has been practicing her fish face a lot lately.

It was fun to pull out some of my old toys for Laurie, though it doesn't take much to entertain her. We found their Tupperware drawer and we left no dish unturned.

I carefully planned to drive back home during nap time and Laurie did not let me down.

My sweet friend Mandi was also in town with her 2 kids, I wish I had taken photos. Laurie was enamored with her 4-year old and enjoyed trailing behind her. Marron may have been a little less thrilled with this baby that wanted to play with all her toys.

Who's the Mama?

I think I worked so hard on Laurie learning to say "Mama" that it may have backfired on me. Now, she calls everyone Mama, including herself and Will. Laurie may also be experiencing a few slight fits when she doesn't get what she wants. And she always wants the camera.

Laurie loves to read, we read her books countless times during the day, the same books over and over. It tickles me to have her crawl in your lap and hand you a book. Who can say no to that?

Rocking Baby

Laurie may need a few tips on being a good mommie. Poor baby lives a hard life at our house.

I love that the longer Laurie's hair is, the worse her bed head looks.
