Fourth of July Weekend

We had a big fourth of July weekend. Daddy was off on Friday and Monday. We headed off to the zoo first thing Friday morning, I could kick myself for forgetting the camera. It was Laurie's first trip to the zoo when she really seemed to enjoy the animals and laughed and giggled at all of them. To make up for that, after we got home, Daddy put up our new swing and Laurie swung until she couldn't swing anymore. What a hit!

We headed over to Yazoo City for a little vacation in the country. Laurie is doing so much better at 'gentle'. But she was very interested in how big the horse's eyes were and really wanted to poke them. The highlight of our trip was the pond shocking. Laurie slept through most of it, but it was really interesting watching the men from Pond Management 'shocking' the pond and picking up the fish. Daddy got to ride in the boat and had an up close view of things. They weighed and measured all the fish before releasing most of them. We may have kept a few for dinner. Daddy offerred for Laurie to touch a fish and she did enthusiastically with both hands, I think the slime may have turned her off because she wouldn't go near them after that.
