Laurie insisted we buy daddy some new lolly pops. Uh yeah, for daddy, right.
This thing can go to town on a lolly.
First up to keep little hands busy:

Ours, of course, didn't turn out as cute as theirs did. And, I, of course, didn't do it exactly as they did, using whatever I happened to have on hand.
On a cookie sheet, have little one spread glue on paper.
Pour salt to completely coat onto the glue. Shake off excess.
Combine 1 T of water with 5 drops of food coloring.
Using a dropper, drop food coloring onto the glue. If your little one is like mine, she will pretty much just pour the food coloring everywhere. And also included, is the wee little one's masterpiece.
